The Lynn Lab hosted a game booth at the first annual Chemistry Carnival. Since the purpose of the Chemistry Carnival is to spread research to the public through games, we decided "peptide" giant jenga was the way to go. A fun way to learn about self-assembly is to stack the peptides yourself.
The event was huge--hundreds of local K-12 students from the Atlanta area came to be amazed by the games, food, demos, and activities spearheaded by Emory Chemistry's labs. It couldn't have been done without the hard work our scientists--ranging from undergrads to PIs--put in every day.
This event was made possible because the Atlanta Science Festival is awesome--it's a yearly event that celebrates science with the metro Atlanta community. Tens of thousands join in the fun, and our PI, Dave, was one of the co-founders!
